"Deboccery" Brewer's Cup 2025
To cap off Bellingham's annual April Brews Day weekend, our beloved craft breweries gathered together to unwind and compete for the coveted cow skull and the right to display it proudly in their taproom for the calendar year. With the leadership of Tom and volunteers from the Carolina street bocce crew, we gave the courts a well-deserved spring cleaning in anticipation for our favorite event of the year.

The 2025 Brewer's Cup included 13 breweries: Kulshan, El Sueñito, Beach Cat, Menace, Aslan, Structures, FrinGe, Boundary Bay, Gruff, Stones Throw, North Fork, Chuckanut, and Stemma. In a double elimination format, we witnessed the three-headed monster that was Kulshan, FrinGe and Chuckanut. Kulshan and FrinGe started hot, having both won their first three matchups before meeting in the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, Chuckanut (who lost early on to Kulshan) was crawling their way back to the championship through the loser's bracket. What ensued was a chaotic back-and-forth heavy-weight battle between this year's top teams. FrinGe held on to beat Kulshan in the quarterfinals. Chuckanut tasted sweet revenge and delivered the final blow to Kulshan in the loser's bracket. This put Chuckanut and FrinGe in the championship, with Chuckanut needing to win two games to FrinGe's one in order to be crowned this year's champion. Chuckanut delivered the first blow, narrowly escaping with the win in game one. 13 breweries, 27 matches, and an impressive graveyard of beer cans came down to this moment. FrinGe vs Chuckanut for a year's worth of bragging rights.

Those rights, and the cow skull symbol of bocce excellence this year belong to FrinGe! Congratulations team FrinGe, your 2025 Brewer's Cup champions!
Thank you to all the teams that came out to compete. We are already looking forward to seeing you all in next year's round of deboccery!
