We are so grateful to those of you who came and had fun…. The response has been very positive and we hope to make it a two day event in 2004.
For those of you who couldn’t make it or who had to leave early…. The Championship match came down to the Misfits who were undefeated coming into the finals, and Blaine Damage who had lost once. Blaine Damage took the first game and tied things up at one loss each. In the sudden death round the Misfits surfaced victorious. How incredible that a team made up of people of every experience level (including none) could play teams with players with 50 years experience and they emerge victorious. One of the teams had a man who had played in a National Tournament three days earlier.
This is the beauty of Bocce. “…on any given day, an absolute beginner can come to a tournament and truly be a contender in the Championship. In deed, win the trophy!
Congratulations to Jim Eastwood, Charlie Holloway, Mimi Howard, and Arthur T. Lee (the Misfits) for being
the 2003 Bellingham Bay Bocce Tournament Champions.
If we can figure out where the trophy is we hope to make a photo available soon
Thanks again from Boccemon and The Third Floor
